About.
Susan Billeaud is an attorney practicing in Georgia and
Louisiana and is inactive, but licensed in Alabama and Texas. After receiving her juris doctorate, cum laude,
in 2000, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University,
Birmingham, Alabama, Susan began her practice as a defense litigator in
Lafayette, Louisiana. She then transitioned to an exclusively
business transaction and commercial litigation boutique practice,
dedicated to small and mid-size enterprises.
But her favorite part of litigation practice has always been brief
writing. This preference shows. She has written successful
briefs to accompany summary judgment motions, appeals, and petitions,
beginning with her first winning summary judgment brief written as a law
clerk following her second year of law school.
Whether the briefs were submitted to courts in Civil Code or common law
jurisdictions, during litigation or on appeal, Susan's attention to
detail, strong research skills, and conversational writing style have
helped her client's briefs provide a solid foundation for favorable
decisions by the court. While not every case can be won on appeal,
Susan always endeavors to give her client's briefs their very best
chance at success!
